Squish!

Filed under: Look At Her Grow — Joy @ 9:20 pm

Charis loves having squish (squash)! It is the tastiest thing in the world. Of course when you have been drinking milk for 5 months and having cereal for 2.5 weeks squish could be good. Charis opens her mouth for the squish, which is more than she would do for the rice cereal. I do mix the cereal with the squish, which is disgusting to some people like my husband. He does not care for the food to run together on his plate but I am quite the food mixer so no problems here. Trust me, it saves a ton of time rather than feeding things one by one to her. I cannot believe that she is eating food; before we know it she will be driving!

Special Things

Filed under: Happenings — Joy @ 9:22 pm

Our parents put flowers in the church on Sunday in honor of Charis’s baptism. It was a large beautiful arrangement. I went this morning to pick them up and bring them home so that we could enjoy them for a few days. I was kind of grumbling to myself as I carried the flowers to the car, yes they are pretty but I have to get them home. I was carrying the flowers (and the diaper bag and my purse and trying to steer the stroller with Charis) by the playground at church for the preschool and all the kids ran to the fence to see the flowers. They kept talking about what big flowers they were. You could literally see the little girls start to dream. The children’s eyes were full of excitement and awe. I realized that sometimes I forget to enjoy even the special things in life. It really made me stop and be thankful for the gift that was given to us by our families. I am excited to enjoy the flowers and the special gift that they are to us. For those of you wondering I did eventually make it to the car! J Thank you Grandpa, Granny, Gpa and Gma!
