Totally Wicked
Brad and I made an escape out of town to Atlanta to see Wicked the Musical! I had heard it several thousand times in the car with Brad and I liked the whole concept of it being the prequel to The Wizard of Oz and all but I could not totally figure out all that went on without really seeing it instead of just hearing it. We had balcony tickets and I was excited mainly just for the escape out of town and a little break from Miss Charis. Brad and I arrived early at the theatre and we decided that we would both enter into the lottery for closer seats. What was the first name called…Brad’s!!! We ended up having third row seats for my new favorite musical of all time! It was so incredible to be so close to see the actor’s faces etc. It was truly an experience!!! The musical is quite humorous! My favorite line is when the wicked witch (Elphaba) is talking to the good witch (Glinda) and she says, “We can’t all travel by bubble!†It was so funny! It is definitely a must see and a must see again and even again!
I love that book!!! It was so great! I hope it comes to Vegas at some point! I’m glad you had a good weekend and got to get away.

[...] Just to add another perspective, Joy also really liked Wicked and she has decided that it is in fact her new favorite musical (I don’t think she’s as attached to Les Miserables as I am, even though I’ve tried to show her the light). And she put the cast recording in to listen to on the way home from Atlanta, which says a lot because I usually get some grief when I want to listen to musicals on road trips. You can read more of her thoughts here. « Interesting Sites For This Week [...]

Wicked tickets were a special Christmas gift from Tim last year…he found box seats (ooo-la-la!!)for me and my sister at the Kennedy Center! Beka and I loved every minute and walked away with many deep thoughts about which of us was more like Glinda or Elpheba…our conclusion was that we have bits of both ladies in us–guess we both like to travel by bubble at times! Oh course, for a few weeks after the musical, we were saying “Mummsy and Popsicle” and humming Popular. My sister even has “Popular” as her cell phone ring-tone! I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip with Brad–you married one awesome guy–HE LIKES MUSICALS!!!
By the way, I loved the latest pictures of your little lady! I sure hope our baby girl is as cute as your’s!

Hey Kay! How fun that you got to see Wicked also! Our Becca had Popular as her ring tone for a bit as well…isn’t that funny! It does tend to stick in your head for a good bit! I to could see a little bit of both characters in myself. I would really love to have a good floating bubble!
It is fun that Brad likes musicals. I did not like them at first but after he drug me to a few I have fallen in love with them.
