Sully

Filed under: Silly Somethings — Joy @ 12:02 am

We passed the loveliest Christmas tree along the road. It was at a local garden center and had a front row seat to face the street. I am not totally sure why it was in the front as it was a tree that no one but I would choose. I started with the name Fuzzy for him but the longer I took him in (we were at a red light) the more I realized that he had the exact same shape as Sully (the big blue monster) from Monsters Inc. He was large but he had a kind of hunched over look about him. He really had no point on top for a star but what character he did have. I must say it was one of the fuzziest trees that I had ever seen. His needles even looked like Sully’s hair almost like a mop top. I have fallen in love with this tree but he is not meant to be ours. I only hope that some little kid will come along and see what I saw in him and demand to take him home. Here is hoping for a home at Christmas for Sully! Just FYI Brad does not feel the same way about Sully that I feel and he even thinks that I am a little crazy!

  1. Sully sounds like a great tree–too bad Charis couldn’t have her “own” tree. I loved our tree last year and named it and talked to it; you know you’re not alone in that in this family. :)

  2. You’re not alone outside the family either ;) When I was young, the more fault my mom would find in a tree, the more I wanted to take that tree home to be loved and decorated. I remember a lot of crying (and not “small crying” either – I mean those gut-wrentching SOBS) when we went “tree shopping” wanting to take home the most pathetic tree in the lot.
It’s carried over into adulthood – which is why I have an artificial tree (I feel like I’m in the pound when I go into a tree lot).
    How sad am I? ;)

  3. Not so sad at all Carrie! I am so right there with you! We also have an artificial tree it is too hard to tree shop as so many of them just need a good home and a little love!
