Hair

Filed under: Crafty, Happenings — Joy @ 9:48 pm

Hair is such a crazy thing! We let sister’s hair get pretty long and a good bit out of control before I finally got brave enough and ready to cut it. I am still cutting her hair and though it is not perfect I am slowly figuring it out plus it is really forgiving as it is curly curly! I must admit that at a year and a half I had still not cut brother’s hair. I mean I had definitely kept the line in the back straight and tidy but that is it the rest of it had pretty much grown to one length except for on top. His hair is straight and it just felt overwhelming to cut hair where you would be able to see so many mistakes plus it is still that fluffy baby hair that is so wonderful! Last week was the week though! I finally broke down after much encouragement from the hubby and cut away. His hair feels more like little boy hair now and not so downy soft and he looks so much older but I must admit that he does look cute (bias). I am not thrilled with the haircut as it is a bit choppy but hopefully with time I will figure it out!

In other news I promise that I did not use my Gingher Scissors (pictured above) to cut brother’s hair!!! ;) Joann’s had a 50% off sale on them a few weeks ago and I was super excited to finally get a pair. I liked them so much that my hubby surprised me with a few more of our anniversary! We celebrated 10 years last week! This past 10 years has held so much! I am so thankful for the blessing of him in my life and looking forward to the next 10!

  1. His haircut is cute! You always do a good job. I don’t know how you got him to hold still, though. :)

  2. Nothing like a good basket dumping to keep a little one entertained (and held still)! ;)

  4. Thanks Jennifer! Basket dumping is when you take a huge really full basket and let the little one pull every last thing out of it! You have a huge mess at the end of the haircut but the hair is cut! ;)
