On The Cutting Table

zig-zag-quilt

There are actually several things on the cutting table but I keep putting this one on top of all the other projects. I have been wanting to make the Zig Zag Quilt ever since my SIL made one last year. Hers turned out so well that I wanted to give it a try. I have started sewing a few of the squares to make triangles and I am excited to see how it turns out. It will be awhile before it is finished as I mentioned the other projects are for such things as birthdays, baby showers etc. that need to happen in a timely manner. ;) I am excited to see this quilt come together though!

  2. You are a lover of the needle and thread too, huh?! Superb! I crave to create and fills me to the brim once a happy project is complete! I have only done 2 quilts before. Fell head over heals in love…just have much more on my plate with designing hangbags for a living. I have a new quilt in mind and on the back burner for my sweet niece. Questions. Have you ever made a satin backing for a quilt? Heard of it done? Think it will look alright? I was planning to use a read polka dot satin for the back of a quick blanket, but then thought I might want to quilt it. I am thinking of using the same satin for the binding…thoughts?

Like I how I pretended we were next door neighbors chit chatting in the yard there?!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Good luck!!

  3. Hey mac! Thanks for stopping by! I love the neighbor chit chat! :) Your handbags are wonderful by the way! I have personally never used satin to back a quilt as I am not sure that I have the patience. ;) The satin will be a little slippery to work with but it is totally doable as I have seen it done before. I even think that you could quilt the satin as well, again it would be tricky but it could be done! I love the thought of red polka dot satin! I bet that your niece would love it!!!
